Financial Controller – £60‑80k (Permanent)

About the role

The company is a niche manufacturing business near Warrington, owned by an international group. As Financial Controller you will join the senior management team, reporting to the COO and Group Finance Director, and be responsible for high‑quality financial management, working‑capital control and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a Finance & Administration team of five, embedding a culture of financial discipline.
• Produce the monthly management accounts pack for the Group Financial Controller, Group CFO and local senior management team.
• Provide commercial financial analysis and insight to support project and operational decisions.
• Support strategic financial planning, including cash forecasts and monitoring project performance.
• Manage working capital, cash flow, cash forecasting and credit control in close collaboration with the Group CFO and COO.
• Oversee all financial operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expenditure control, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain documented finance procedures, accounting policies and ensure compliance with UK GAAP, tax, VAT and CIS/reverse‑charge where applicable.
• Liaise with external auditors, prepare working papers and support the annual audit process.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with formal practice training and relevant industry experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience supporting senior management decision‑making.
• Right to work in the UK and based locally to Warrington.
