Financial Controller – £60k-£80k (Hybrid, Eastleigh)

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing UK business (c.£10m turnover) seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function. This hands‑on, senior position offers autonomy, strategic influence and a clear pathway to Finance Director, working in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations and governance
• Short‑ and medium‑term cash‑flow forecasting (including 13‑week rolling)
• Working capital management and funding/liquidity visibility
• Budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling (capex, fleet, pricing, headcount)
• Margin and profitability analysis across asset categories and customer types
• Oversight of VAT, PAYE and corporation tax
• Manage relationships with banks, insurers and external advisors
• Improve systems and processes within a Xero environment
• Lead and develop a small finance team

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Proven Financial Controller or Finance Manager experience in an SME
• Strong hands‑on financial control and cash‑flow expertise
• Commercially minded with confidence influencing senior stakeholders
• Strong Excel and data‑handling abilities
• Comfortable balancing detail‑orientation with strategic thinking
