Financial Controller – Real Estate Development (Hybrid, London)

About the role

This senior leadership position sits at the heart of a fast‑growing, international real estate development business. Based in Central London with hybrid working, you will partner directly with executive leadership to shape financial reporting, governance and controls across a complex EMEA structure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for the EMEA region under US GAAP.
• Oversee statutory reporting and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage complex consolidations, intercompany reporting and regional financial controls.
• Act as finance business partner to Operations, Legal, Tax, Treasury and senior leadership.
• Review and challenge accounting treatment for development transactions, joint ventures and equity arrangements.
• Support technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, impairments, carried interest and IFRS 15.
• Lead audit relationships and ensure compliance within a SOX‑controlled environment.
• Interpret legal and commercial agreements into clear accounting outcomes.
• Drive process improvements, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• ACA qualified, preferably with Big 4 experience.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience in large multinational organisations.
• Proven ability to operate in a US‑listed, SOX‑controlled environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across senior leadership.
