Financial Controller – Regional Business Unit

About the role

The Financial Controller will own the finance function for a regional business unit in Hampshire, working closely with senior leadership. This role blends technical finance oversight with hands‑on commercial involvement, influencing operational decisions and driving performance.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for financial management, delivering accurate monthly reporting, forecasts and year‑end outputs.
• Lead the finance team to maintain strong controls, balance‑sheet integrity and day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, providing insight to improve contract performance, margins and cash flow.
• Support bids, renewals and pricing decisions through robust financial modelling and risk analysis.
• Drive cash‑flow and working‑capital improvements in collaboration with credit control and operational stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting quality and financial control.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience at Financial Controller level or senior finance leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of partnering with operational teams in contract‑led environments.
• Confident communicator able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
