Financial Controller – Specialist Lending Business

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the day‑to‑day finance function of a fast‑growing specialist lending business. This hands‑on position offers extensive exposure to funding structures, lender reporting, cash management and strategic finance initiatives while helping to build a robust finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial control and reporting activities across the organisation.
• Manage year‑end and interim audit processes.
• Prepare and deliver financial and regulatory reports for funding partners and lenders.
• Develop and maintain cash‑flow, debt‑servicing and capital‑allocation forecasting models.
• Oversee finance operations, including payments, banking relationships, revenue schedules and payroll processing.
• Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
• Identify efficiencies through automation and emerging technologies such as AI.
• Manage, coach and develop the finance team while supporting future recruitment.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Proven experience in financial services or a comparable environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial reporting and audit responsibilities.
• Experience developing forecasting models and conducting scenario analysis.
