Fire and Security Engineer

About the role

FindCore is supporting an established fire and security business in recruiting a Fire Service Engineer for a permanent, full‑time position based in Devon. The role involves servicing, testing and maintaining a range of fire and security systems while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Service, test and maintain fire detection, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
• Carry out small‑works installations, system upgrades and fault diagnosis.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams.
• Test and commission systems, produce commissioning documentation, certificates and service reports.
• Liaise with clients, site teams and other contractors; provide system demonstrations and handovers.
• Work safely in line with company procedures and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in fire and security servicing or small‑works.
• Experience across fire detection, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability.
• Comfortable reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of networking and IP‑based systems.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to pass full security vetting.
• ECS or CSCS card beneficial.
