Flight Physics Internship – 12.5 months

About the role

Join Airbus Flight Physics for a 12.5‑month placement in Filton, Bristol. You will work on top‑level aircraft design topics across programmes such as the A350XWB and A320neo, contributing to real projects and gaining exposure to a variety of technical domains.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a main project that runs for the full placement period, plus shorter tasks to broaden your experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, interfacing with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Apply CFD, wind‑tunnel testing and data‑analytics techniques to solve aerodynamic and loads challenges.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related technical subject (minimum two years remaining).
• Strong curiosity, proactive attitude and ability to manage problems in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work on UK commercial aviation topics and obtain required security clearances.

Required skills

• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling.
• Wind‑tunnel testing methods.
• Machine Learning and Data Analytics techniques.
• Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts.
