Flood Modeller – Hydraulic Modelling Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Flood Modeller to join a leading civil and environmental consultancy delivering flood risk and drainage solutions across the UK. The role offers clear progression towards chartership and the chance to work on residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce Flood Risk Assessments and hydraulic models using Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW and HEC‑RAS.
• Carry out hydrological analyses employing FEH methods, WINFAP and ReFH.
• Develop drainage strategies, SuDS layouts and provide planning support documentation.
• Liaise with Lead Local Flood Authorities, the Environment Agency and other statutory consultees.
• Support pre‑purchase feasibility studies and the discharge of planning conditions.
• Utilise GIS and CAD tools for modelling, mapping and reporting.
• Manage assigned projects to meet programme and budget targets.
• Contribute to technical quality, client communication and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in flood risk, hydrology or drainage modelling within a UK consultancy.
• Confidence using FEH, hydraulic modelling software and delivering Flood Risk Assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and willing to take technical ownership.
• Working towards chartership with CIWEM, ICE or a similar institution.
