Forklift Operator – Loading (Central Hub)

About the role

The Forklift Operator (Loading) works in the Central Hub to load outbound routes accurately, efficiently and safely. The role ensures a steady flow of product across the Vertique system and supports cross‑training with other forklift operators.

Key responsibilities

• Operate stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts following Central Hub loading best practices.
• Perform pre‑trip inspections on all power equipment via the InfoLink system.
• Load and unload shipping equipment from trailers, verifying container IDs, route numbers and trailer numbers.
• Secure loads with a minimum of two straps and register movements in the Warehouse Management System using tablets, cell phones or RF scanners.
• Rotate stock using the Location Based Inventory (LBI) process and FEFO method.
• Build partial pallets from backstock to meet order requests and feed pallet dispensers.
• Inspect trailers and equipment, reporting any abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Collect damaged goods and move them to the designated recycling area.

Required profile

• Regular and timely attendance, with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to follow safety rules, stay aware of surroundings and work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
• Willingness to cross‑train and perform functions of other forklift operators.

Required skills

• Operation of stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts.
• Pre‑trip inspection procedures.
• Use of the InfoLink system for equipment checks.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and electronic devices (tablets, cell phones, RF scanners).
• Knowledge of FEFO inventory rotation and pallet handling.
• Load securing techniques using straps.
