Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Integrations)

About the role

A senior, client-facing engineering role bridging an AI operations platform and the real-world systems used by enterprise customers. You will work directly with customers to understand their processes, technical constraints and business goals, then design and deliver practical AI-powered solutions within their existing environment. The position is based in London with a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers, including C-level and senior business stakeholders.
• Understand customer workflows, systems, data sources and operational challenges.
• Scope implementation projects, define success criteria and turn business requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and build integrations between the AI platform and customer systems using Python or JavaScript, SQL, APIs, JSON and webhooks.
• Develop, configure and deploy LLM-based agents and automation workflows in production.
• Work with AI evaluation methods, retrieval systems, MCP and agent frameworks to ensure reliability.
• Handle deployment constraints such as legacy systems, incomplete documentation and limited APIs.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and measure business impact such as efficiency gains and cost savings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• External, commercial experience with named enterprise customers, including scoping work with economic buyers.
• Experience in a venture-backed startup or scale-up, ideally Seed to Series B, or a genuine high-growth enterprise environment.
• Ability to move between technical implementation and commercial discussion, with strong communication skills and full professional fluency in English.

Required skills

• Applied AI experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, evaluations, MCP or retrieval-based systems.

• Salary of 130,000 to 160,000 GBP per year.
