Fraud & Risk Manager

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting a Fraud & Risk Manager for a fast‑growing retail and e‑commerce business in Bristol. Reporting into Finance, you will shape fraud prevention strategies, risk frameworks and financial controls, protecting assets and strengthening governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously enhance fraud prevention, monitoring and response frameworks.
• Monitor transactional activity to spot suspicious trends and potential fraud risks.
• Lead fraud investigations, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Perform regular risk assessments and design practical mitigation strategies.
• Oversee customer and supplier onboarding controls, ensuring robust due diligence.
• Partner with Finance, Credit Control, Sales, Operations, IT and Procurement to strengthen controls.
• Design, document and monitor internal control frameworks for audit and compliance.
• Identify emerging fraud risks, control weaknesses and process‑improvement opportunities.
• Build relationships with banks, payment providers and fraud‑prevention partners.
• Prepare and present fraud, risk and control reports to senior leadership.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of four staff responsible for fraud checks and onboarding.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fraud prevention, risk management, financial or internal controls.
• Previous people‑management experience with a track record of coaching and developing teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
