Freelance PR Consultant – Consumer Lifestyle & Earned Media

About the role

We are seeking a freelance PR consultant to help a UK‑based greeting‑card subscription brand amplify its narrative across earned media. Over a 90‑day pilot, you will turn the brand’s story into compelling coverage that positions it as a voice on thoughtfulness, independent artistry, and analogue communication.

Key responsibilities

• Pressure‑test and refine the existing brand narrative from a journalist’s perspective.
• Identify and build targeted relationships with journalists covering culture, lifestyle, creativity, and analogue experiences.
• Pitch story ideas and secure placements in national and relevant niche publications.
• Achieve multiple pieces of earned media coverage within the pilot period.
• Establish journalist relationships that extend beyond the project.
• Validate PR as a scalable channel for future investment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in consumer‑lifestyle or cultural PR, preferably on a freelance or contract basis.
• Strong understanding of media landscapes in the UK, especially outlets covering gifting, creativity, and analogue trends.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and deliver measurable results.
