Freelance Site Supervisor for HMP North West

About the role

You will lead small‑works and refurbishment projects across multiple HMP sites in the North West, coordinating trades and ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required standard. This freelance position offers an immediate start with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site trades and specialist subcontractors.
• Manage refurbishment, repair and small‑works projects from assessment to hand‑over.
• Allocate labour, order materials and control deliveries.
• Monitor programme deadlines and track project progress.
• Conduct quality inspections, site audits and health & safety checks.
• Liaise with client representatives and site management teams.
• Maintain site records, documentation and sign‑off completed works.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Working Foreman, Team Leader or Small‑Works Supervisor.
• Trade background in joinery, building, electrical or plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades on live construction projects.
• EL1 security clearance (essential) and full UK right to work.
