Front of House Supervisor (6-Month Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Front of House Supervisor to lead our breakfast and lunch service at Farnham House in Stevenage. This 6‑month fixed‑term role involves overseeing daily front‑of‑house operations, ensuring high standards of customer service and safety, and supporting the Chef Manager in meeting financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day front‑of‑house activities for breakfast and lunch services.
• Supervise, motivate and develop front‑of‑house team members.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain presentation standards.
• Oversee till operations, cash handling and daily financial paperwork.
• Control stock: ordering, monitoring, and conducting monthly stock counts.
• Operate the coffee bar and perform Barista duties as required.
• Replenish retail displays, vending machines and refrigerators.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety regulations.
• Complete due‑diligence records and operational checks.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in hospitality, catering, retail or food service.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience with stock control and cash handling.
• Organised, reliable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Barista experience desirable but not essential.
