Front Office Tax Advisory – Vice President

About the role

Nomura is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its EMEA Tax team in London as a Front Office Tax Advisory Vice President. The role provides independent tax oversight to the Wholesale business, supporting Global Markets and Investment Banking with commercial‑focused tax advice.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary tax advisor to trading desks and investment banking teams across EMEA, delivering timely, commercially oriented guidance.
• Identify tax risks and opportunities in existing and proposed trading strategies and provide cross‑border tax analysis for complex multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
• Participate in new product approval processes and transaction committees, providing independent tax review and sign‑off.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, positioning tax as a value‑adding partner while ensuring robust governance and risk management.
• Collaborate with tax teams in Frankfurt, New York, Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo to align regional and global tax initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant experience in corporate tax advisory within a financial services environment.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• Proven track record of influencing senior business stakeholders and driving tax‑related initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple jurisdictions.
