Frontend Software Engineer (TypeScript)

About the role

The Avigilon Alta Video UI team builds the mission-critical infrastructure behind its VMS platform and is evolving it to support deep-tier interconnection across the Motorola product portfolio. The team values high-performance engineering and architectural integrity, and while its stack uses Vue 3, Pinia and TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend, it prioritises engineering fundamentals over specific library knowledge. The position is based in a city centre office in Edinburgh with a hybrid model aiming for two days in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, develop and maintain software for the organisation's products and systems
• Develop, validate and test code, and debug when necessary
• Implement state management patterns and API integrations to support a scaling ecosystem
• Collaborate with other teams on solutions and ask for information and requirements when needed

Required profile

• 1-3 years of software engineering experience
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and TypeScript, ideally with modern frontend frameworks
• Understanding of application state patterns, data flows (e.g. Pinia, Vuex or Redux) and reactivity/observables
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and websockets
• Basic understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment, Git
• Good foundation in data structures, algorithms and design patterns, and a collaborative mindset
