Full‑time Housekeeper / Cleaner – Bedford

About the role

Bedford Citizens Housing Association is seeking a full‑time Housekeeper/Cleaner to join the team at Bedford Charter House, a residential care home. Working 36 hours per week, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, with a rotating weekend shift (one weekend in three).

Key responsibilities

• Perform all cleaning duties throughout the care home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and kitchens.
• Follow cleaning schedules and health‑and‑safety standards to ensure high hygiene levels.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to senior staff.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good condition.

Required profile

• Availability for a full‑time 36‑hour week and willingness to work occasional weekends.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude towards residents and colleagues.
• No prior commercial housekeeping experience required – full training will be provided.
