Future Projects Engineer Placement – 12.5‑month Internship

About the role

The Future Projects Engineer Placement offers a 12.5‑month internship within Airbus Commercial Aircraft’s Future Projects Office, based in Filton, Bristol. You will contribute to early‑stage aircraft design, supporting either the Wing and Landing Gear Team or the Overall Aircraft Preliminary Design Team.

Key responsibilities

• Work on preliminary design concepts for wings, landing gear, or complete aircraft, delivering optimized engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK, France, Germany and Spain, requiring strong communication skills.
• Participate in outreach activities such as career fairs, site tours and STEM sessions in schools.

Required profile

• Must be an undergraduate engineering student for the entire placement, studying Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient oral and written communication, with good IT skills.
• Creative, open‑minded, with a keen interest in aviation and the ability to work autonomously in a trans‑national team.
• Motivated to help shape the future of aviation.
