Garment Technologist - Lead

About the role

Our client is a fast‑growing premium womenswear brand that creates elevated collections celebrating inclusivity. As the Technical Lead you will own the technical development of all product categories, ensuring every garment meets the brand’s standards for fit, quality, performance and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all technical aspects of product development across multiple categories.
• Own garment fit, construction, grading and quality standards from development through to production.
• Manage the end‑to‑end fit process, conduct fit sessions and provide clear technical feedback.
• Develop and maintain grading rules to ensure consistency across all size ranges.
• Build and maintain technical specifications and measurement standards.
• Collaborate with Design and Buying to ensure commercial viability while maintaining premium quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve garment construction, fit, fabric performance and manufacturing efficiencies.
• Analyse customer feedback and returns to continuously improve product quality and fit.
• Manage supplier performance and ensure factories meet quality expectations and safety, testing and labelling requirements.
• Support sourcing teams with technical risk assessments and factory capability reviews.
• Mentor and develop the technical team as the business grows.
• Build robust technical processes that support continued brand growth.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior Garment Technologist or Technical Lead role within fashion retail.
• Extensive experience across multiple product categories, including women’s, curve, tall, petite and childrenswear.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, cost and speed to market.
• Excellent analytical skills using customer feedback and returns data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
