GCP Cloud Architect (Banking Domain)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Architect to join a leading global technology consultancy’s Financial Services practice in London. The role focuses on designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions for major banking clients, working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑grade landing zones on Google Cloud Platform and Azure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terraform Cloud to automate provisioning.
• Establish cloud governance, policy‑as‑code and security standards for regulated financial services.
• Collaborate with architects, platform engineers and business stakeholders to define cloud strategy and DevOps practices.
• Support migration and modernization of legacy banking applications to container platforms such as GKE and AKS.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing enterprise cloud solutions on GCP, with solid Azure knowledge.
• Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes, GKE and AKS in production environments.
• Strong background in Terraform, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness) and Python scripting.
• Understanding of cloud governance frameworks (OPA, Sentinel) and security best practices in highly regulated sectors.
