General Assistant

About the role

As a General Assistant at a Barchester care home, you will support residents by delivering a range of essential services. The role blends housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and catering duties to create a warm, homely environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clean and safe communal areas, resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Assist with laundry services, ensuring linens are fresh and ready.
• Support catering operations, including meal preparation and serving.
• Provide basic assistance to residents, promoting their comfort and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with the care team to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety.

• Practical and willing to perform a variety of tasks.
• Ability to work flexibly across full‑time and part‑time shifts.
