General Foreman

About the role

The General Foreman will lead site operations on civil engineering projects, focusing on earthworks and highway construction. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage daily workloads for plant and labour, and ensure the project meets health, safety, environmental, schedule and budget targets.

Key responsibilities

• Determine efficient work methodologies and communicate them to engineers, management, workforce and subcontractors.
• Support the project behavioural safety programme to maintain a high‑performing, collaborative culture.
• Direct site operations, manage subcontractors and coordinate daily plant and labour workloads.
• Set and enforce the highest standards for health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Ensure all works are completed to project specifications and delivered on programme and budget.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve schedule and cost performance.

Required profile

• Proven success as a General Foreman in the civil engineering sector, specifically earthworks and highways.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in bulk earthworks and road construction.
• Strong understanding of heavy plant operations.
• Exceptional leadership abilities.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Valid CSCS Card.
