General Manager – UK Business Leader

About the role
The General Manager will lead the UK business of a long‑standing technical products supplier, developing customer relationships, driving sales and overseeing operations. Reporting to the Group, you will inherit a stable, profitable business and guide its next phase of growth.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee full P&L of approximately £10 million turnover, coaching and motivating the team.
- Lead the UK sales and operations team, set sales objectives and strategies, and drive revenue and profit targets.
- Conduct regular market analysis, monitor competition and economic indicators, and identify new growth opportunities.
- Drive operational excellence across inventory, logistics and assembly functions.
- Mentor direct and indirect reports, fostering development and performance.
Required profile
- Proven track record of selling technical products/solutions in manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Experience managing a multi‑million‑pound P&L and leading a senior‑level team.
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to generate new business and nurture client relationships.
- Degree‑level education or equivalent sales/operational management experience.
- Hands‑on, “many hats” attitude suitable for an SME environment.
