General Operative / Handy Man

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position is based in Bristol and offers a rate of £13.46 per hour. You will join a proactive team delivering day‑to‑day maintenance across a range of properties, working both independently and alongside the Lead Operative.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general handyman tasks such as fixing toilets, repairing door handles and small painting jobs.
• Perform jet‑washing, pressure‑washing and other cleaning duties.
• Complete scheduled PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) checks and ensure accurate paperwork submission.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests within defined KPI timeframes.
• Report progress and issues to the Lead Operative.

Required profile

• Proactive team player who can also work confidently on own initiative.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and meet KPI deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks.

Required skills

• Plumbing repair (e.g., fixing toilets).
• Door hardware repair and replacement.
• Basic painting and surface preparation.
• Pressure/jet washing of external areas.
• Conducting preventive maintenance (PPM) checks.
• General building maintenance using hand tools.
