About the role
The General Porter (CAP) provides essential portering services on a part‑time basis within NHS Scotland facilities. The role supports security, emergency response and car‑parking operations while promoting a professional image for the department.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out portering duties, including assistance with security, emergency situations and car‑parking management.
- Assist with patient transport and equipment movement as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the areas you work in.
- Ensure efficient delivery of quality services and uphold the department’s professional standards.
Required profile

- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and possession of a valid PVG Scheme membership/record.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts and respond to urgent requests.
