General Practitioner – Out of Hours (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to provide out‑of‑hours care at HMP Eastwood Park, a female prison in South Gloucestershire. This part‑time position involves four hours per week, Friday evenings, delivering comprehensive medical services to a diverse inmate population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑class primary care, including clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Offer specialist input in long‑term conditions, sexual health or substance misuse, according to personal interest.
• Support the multidisciplinary team with medical leadership, advice and clinical governance activities.
• Participate in health‑in‑justice training and maintain compliance with security and vetting requirements.

Required profile

• Fully registered GP with the right to work in the UK.
• Interest in delivering end‑to‑end care within a secure environment.
• Willingness to undergo additional vetting and security checks.
