Geoenvironmental Engineer (Engineering Geologist)

About the role

This position is with an established environmental and engineering consultancy, supporting a range of ground investigation and environmental projects across the South East of England. The role combines site‑based field work with office‑based technical reporting, offering a hybrid working pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and carry out ground investigation works on diverse sites.
• Coordinate field activities, manage subcontractors and ensure technical standards.
• Prepare factual and interpretative technical reports, including Phase I and Phase II site assessments.
• Conduct contaminated land and geotechnical risk assessments.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and deadlines, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders, providing practical geological recommendations.
• Mentor junior team members where required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in engineering geology or geo‑environmental consultancy.
• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of current environmental and geotechnical regulations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and report‑writing abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
