Geomatics Project Officer – Oxford

About the role
Oxford Archaeology is seeking a Geomatics Project Officer to join its busy Geomatics department. You will be responsible for capturing, processing and analysing spatial data across a variety of archaeological projects, often working away from Oxford for extended periods.
Key responsibilities
- Capture, process and analyse GIS and survey data using GNSS, total stations and photogrammetry.
- Organise and lead survey teams, managing spatial data workflows for multiple sites.
- Develop and implement spatial methodologies in collaboration with project managers.
- Monitor performance, train staff and provide remote technical assistance.
- Author grey‑literature site reports and contribute to academic publications.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in both office‑based and field geomatics within the UK or Irish commercial archaeological sector.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to archaeological fieldwork.
- Higher degree in archaeology, geomatics or a related earth‑science discipline (advantageous).
- Full clean driving licence; CAA‑approved UAV pilot licence desirable.
