Global Payments Project Product Controller

About the role
As a Global Payments Project Product Controller within the Product Control team in Bournemouth, you will support the delivery of strategic change initiatives across Merchant Services projects, working closely with Finance, Operations, Technology and business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Support end‑to‑end project and change delivery for Product Control initiatives, including scope definition, requirements gathering, operating model inputs, implementation activities, UAT/parallel run support and post‑implementation validation.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, process flows and control considerations.
- Develop and document target operating models and process flows, ensuring alignment with existing standards and controls.
- Coordinate with the Business, Finance PMO and Product Control leads to track delivery progress, dependencies and key milestones.
- Maintain project governance by updating RAID logs, tracking risks and issues and escalating actions as needed.
- Support UAT and testing cycles by reviewing test cases and accounting schemas, validating outputs against finance and control requirements.
- Provide control‑focused deliverables such as substantiation, reconciliations and reporting validation during project milestones and go‑live periods.
- Assist senior team members with project tasks, analysis and reporting while building expertise in Product Control and project delivery.
Required profile
- Understanding of Product Control, accounting and finance control concepts (P&L, balance sheet, reconciliations, substantiation).
- Exposure to project delivery, business analysis or process improvement within a finance or payments environment.
- Basic knowledge of finance systems, data flows and reporting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Effective written communication skills for documenting requirements, processes and findings.
- Team‑oriented mindset with willingness to learn and collaborate across functions.
