Governance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Governance Assistant to join our Bath‑based team. In this pivotal position you will support senior leaders and the Board in maintaining a robust governance framework, ensuring risk registers, internal audits and assurance processes are accurately managed.

Key responsibilities

• Keep risk registers up‑to‑date and support the review of risks and controls.
• Coordinate audit schedules, track management actions and prepare for quarterly audits.
• Assist with fraud‑prevention initiatives and report emerging trends from audits and incidents.
• Produce insightful reports, support regulatory submissions and monitor follow‑up actions.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders to probe controls and ensure relevance.

Required profile

• Experience in risk management, internal audit, assurance or compliance.
• Strong administration skills with experience using systems to manage registers and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to work independently and handle sensitive issues tactfully.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
