GP Accounts & Tax Manager – Healthcare Sector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced GP Accounts & Tax Manager to join a well‑established accountancy practice’s specialist healthcare team. The role involves managing a portfolio of GP practices and other healthcare clients, delivering accounting, tax, NHS pension and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of GP practices and healthcare clients, ensuring timely delivery of accounts and tax services.
• Prepare and review GP partnership accounts and personal/partnership tax returns.
• Submit PCSE estimates, handle NHS pension matters including annual allowance calculations and RPPS reporting.
• Review and submit superannuation certificates and advise on drawings, profit allocations and tax liabilities.
• Liaise directly with clients, responding to queries promptly.
• Support and train junior staff, providing technical guidance.
• Collaborate with internal UK and offshore teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with GP practices, healthcare clients or medical sector accounts.
• Strong understanding of GP taxation and NHS pension matters.
• Experience preparing or reviewing GP partnership accounts.
• Excellent client‑facing communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
