GP – Urgent Care & Emergency Medicine (London)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join our busy Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. The role offers the chance to manage acute and urgent presentations in a modern, central London hospital while supporting a charitable mission that funds an on‑site hospice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality clinical care in line with hospital and UCC policies.
• Assess and manage urgent, acute and early emergency presentations safely and efficiently.
• Lead or support paediatric resuscitation and emergency response when required.
• Mentor nursing colleagues and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Participate in audits, service‑improvement projects and governance initiatives.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and GP Register.
• Experience in General Practice, Urgent Care, Minor Illness and/or A&E.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
• Commitment to CPD, excellent communication and a patient‑focused approach.
• Desirable: previous UCC/ED experience, strong paediatric experience, ALS and EPALS certifications.

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) certification.
