Graduate Software Engineer

About the role

Native is looking for a Graduate Software Engineer to join a fast‑moving, startup‑style team. You will work on a managed marketplace that connects students, student unions, universities and advertisers, delivering real impact from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Ship production Python services using FastAPI and maintain internal tools and dashboards.
• Develop front‑end features with Jinja, Tailwind CSS and React.
• Build and maintain data pipelines in dbt and BigQuery.
• Create and refine student persona models, including clustering, scoring and labeling (sometimes with LLMs).
• Implement identity stitching to unify student records across disparate sources.
• Apply pseudonymisation and data‑minimisation practices while ensuring data quality.
• Identify and resolve performance, reliability or technical debt issues.

Required profile

• Strong clarity of thought and the ability to make good judgments under pressure.
• Comfort with building structure where none exists and solving problems from first principles.
• Demonstrated resilience, initiative and the capacity to handle ambiguous situations.
• Intellectual sharpness; degrees in engineering, maths, computer science, philosophy, languages, history or other fields are welcome.
