Graduate Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support

About the role

We are seeking a kind and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted‑rated school in Hackney. This full‑time, term‑time position provides one‑to‑one support for students with additional needs, helping them engage with daily lessons and thrive in a safe classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work one‑to‑one with pupils to support their participation in lessons.
• Assist in creating and adapting engaging learning resources.
• Monitor student progress and report findings to the class teacher.
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive, safe classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• A degree (Education, Psychology, Arts or related fields are preferred).
• Recent experience in a school or care setting.
• Professional references covering previous work or training.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
