Graduate Teaching Assistant & Cover Supervisor Roles – Sep 2026

About the role

We are recruiting recent graduates to support secondary schools in St Helens from September 2026. Positions include Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor and other classroom support roles, offering both long‑term and daily supply opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers during lessons and work with small groups of students.
• Deliver pre‑planned lessons when teachers are absent as a Cover Supervisor.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide learning, behaviour and intervention support as required.

Required profile

• Degree in any subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident, adaptable, enthusiastic and enjoy working with young people.
• Interest in a teaching or education career (PGCE optional).
• Experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
