Graphic Designer – Medical Illustration (12‑month fixed term)

About the role

We are seeking a creative Graphic Designer to join the award‑winning Medical Illustration team at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working alongside photographers, videographers and designers, you will produce visual content that supports patient care, education, communication and service improvement across the Trust.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality graphics for print and digital formats, including patient information, illustrations, presentations and educational resources.
• Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical staff to translate complex information into clear, engaging visual solutions.
• Contribute to national projects and external collaborations, ensuring consistency with the Trust’s brand and visual standards.
• Maintain and develop the visual asset library for the Medical Illustration service.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in graphic design, preferably within a healthcare or multidisciplinary creative environment.
• Strong visual communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, able to work closely with diverse stakeholders.
