Group Financial Controller

About the role

As the Group Financial Controller you will lead the finance function for a fast‑growing, B‑Corp certified pet‑food business. Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, you will own the integrity of international financial reporting, ensure robust governance and drive finance transformation to support sustainable scaling.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver statutory accounting across the Group in full compliance with UK GAAP/FRS 102 and relevant international frameworks.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax authorities and advisory partners, ensuring an efficient audit process.
• Maintain balance‑sheet hygiene, own key financial judgments and perform comprehensive reconciliations.
• Design, embed and continuously improve a best‑in‑class internal control framework.
• Monitor regulatory changes (e‑invoicing, payment practices, ONS reporting) and ensure timely compliance.
• Collaborate with the Head of Tax on filings and group tax strategy implementation.
• Act as a systems thinker, championing finance‑technology initiatives and process automation to increase productivity.

Required skills
