Group ICP Technical Chemist

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Group ICP Technical Chemist to join its laboratory in Liverpool. The role supports ICP teams worldwide, driving method development, continuous improvement and delivering accurate analytical results for a broad range of commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate methods for new commodities using ICP-OES and ICP‑MS.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing analytical methods.
• Provide operational support to meet daily requirements of the Group ICP laboratories.
• Offer technical advice and troubleshooting assistance to laboratory staff.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of ICP techniques with practical laboratory experience.
• Strong collaborative attitude and ability to lead by example.
• Ability to critically review technical data, identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Highly motivated, capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
• Proven time‑management, quality‑driven approach and focus on meeting deadlines.
• Substantial experience in a laboratory setting, including use of ICP‑OES, ICP‑MS and AAS.
• Minimum degree‑level education (or equivalent) is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel overseas for site audits and training visits.
