About the role
The Group Sales & Commercial Director will own revenue, margin and overall commercial performance for a multi‑brand group serving construction, landscaping, civils, infrastructure and utilities sectors. Based in York with national travel, this hands‑on leader will work closely with customers, sales teams and commercial functions to drive disciplined execution.
Key responsibilities
- Own Group revenue, margin and overall commercial performance.
- Lead and develop high‑performing sales, marketing and commercial teams.
- Drive execution across direct and indirect channels, including trade and retail.
- Improve sales productivity, conversion, pricing discipline and margin performance.
- Align marketing activity with commercial priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Use data, insight and technology to improve targeting, decision‑making and performance.
- Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability and delivery.
- Intervene quickly where performance is off‑track.
Required profile
- Commercially driven, sales‑led operator with a strong track record of delivery.
- Highly performance‑oriented and comfortable with accountability.
- Practical, action‑oriented and focused on execution.
- Comfortable setting demanding standards and leading from the front.
- Commercially numerate, resilient and credible with teams and customers.
