Group Tax Manager

About the role

As a Group Tax Manager you will join one of the UK’s largest housing associations, supporting its strong social purpose through expert tax leadership. This newly created position strengthens the tax function across the group, ensuring compliance and identifying planning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of all tax returns, including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid and Employment Taxes.
• Identify, develop and implement tax planning opportunities for the group.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors and tax authorities.
• Provide ad‑hoc tax and technical accounting advice to the Group.
• Lead all tax consultations and respond to queries from business units.

Required profile

• Full CCAB, CIMA or equivalent tax qualification.
• Proven experience in core tax areas, especially VAT (partial exemption) and CIS.
• Ability to interpret legislative changes and apply them to practice.
• Experience working in‑house or in a practice with large, complex organisations.
• Desirable experience in public, not‑for‑profit or housing sector environments.
