Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer – Defense Autonomy

About the role

As a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer at Applied Intuition, you will work on cutting‑edge autonomous capabilities for defense aerial platforms. Based in London, you will design, integrate and rigorously test flight‑autonomy software for a range of unmanned aircraft, from agile quadrotors to long‑range fixed‑wing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt GNC algorithms to meet the unique requirements of each UAV program.
• Integrate GNC software into the core flight‑control stack and ensure seamless operation on real and simulated platforms.
• Write, test, and validate autonomous flight software for group 1‑5 unmanned aerial vehicles.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create reusable software components that power multiple programs.
• Participate in hardware‑in‑the‑loop and flight‑test campaigns to verify performance and safety.

Required profile

• Strong background in guidance, navigation, and control theory applied to aerospace or robotics.
• Experience developing software for autonomous aircraft or UAV systems.
• Proven ability to work in a defense‑focused environment and handle high‑stakes projects.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
