Head Housekeeper

About the role

We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team at our luxury care home in Lennoxtown, near Glasgow. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for 96 residents across residential, dementia, respite and nursing care. This full‑time, contract position offers the chance to shape standards and support a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to meet hygiene and presentation standards.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate housekeeping tasks, ensuring efficient completion and compliance with infection control and health‑and‑safety policies.
• Manage supplies, stock levels and ordering of cleaning materials.
• Monitor quality of work, conduct inspections and implement improvements.
• Provide training, guidance and performance feedback to the housekeeping team.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated service for residents.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role, preferably within a care or hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene and infection‑control procedures.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage team performance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• £13.52 per hour, contracted to 40 hours per week.
