Head Housekeeper – Luxury Boutique Hotel

About the role

Glencoe House, a luxury boutique hotel set in a historic mansion overlooking Loch Leven, is seeking a Head Housekeeper. The role combines hands‑on housekeeping duties with leadership of the cleaning and laundry teams to ensure every guest experience meets the highest standards of luxury and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily housekeeping operations across guest suites, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Prepare rooms to immaculate standards before guest arrival and conduct regular inspections.
• Manage the in‑house laundry, linen stock levels and inventory of cleaning products.
• Create staff rotas, ensure effective team coverage and develop housekeeping staff through training and support.
• Collaborate with the House Manager and Head Chef to guarantee seamless room readiness and guest arrivals.
• Maintain compliance with COSHH, hygiene, health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory or leadership role within hospitality.
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in presentation standards.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Hands‑on approach with willingness to support the team operationally.
• Understanding of health & safety and COSHH regulations; boutique or luxury hotel experience is a plus.
