Head of AI & Data Strategy

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape the AI and data agenda for an international technology‑led organisation. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, you will drive AI‑enabled transformation across multiple markets, turning data initiatives into measurable commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI and data strategy aligned with business priorities such as growth, customer retention, operational efficiency and productivity.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team covering data science, machine learning engineering, data engineering, analytics and AI programme delivery.
• Build and prioritize a portfolio of high‑impact AI and data initiatives across commercial, operational and technology functions.
• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of AI projects, from idea generation and business case development through delivery, adoption and measurement of commercial impact.
• Drive internal AI adoption, enabling teams to use AI tools to improve workflows and decision‑making.
• Oversee the development of scalable, reliable data and AI platforms and ensure best practices in data architecture, model development, deployment and lifecycle management.
• Act as the bridge between senior leadership and technical teams, translating complex AI concepts into clear business language.
• Promote a data‑driven culture through upskilling, knowledge sharing and practical adoption initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in AI, data science, machine learning, data engineering or data platform teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes from data and AI initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior business and technology leaders.
• Experience overseeing end‑to‑end AI project lifecycles and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language and drive organisational change.
