Head of Business – Automotive Dealership

About the role

This senior position leads a high‑volume automotive dealership in Leeds, reporting directly to the group’s executive team. You will have full profit‑and‑loss responsibility and will shape the commercial, operational and customer‑experience strategy of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the dealership P&L, ensuring budget targets are met and profitability is maximised.
• Lead and develop departmental managers across Sales, Finance, Reception, Handover and Display.
• Drive operational excellence, site presentation, stock management and vehicle turnover.
• Champion customer experience, online reputation and CSI performance.
• Maintain FCA compliance and robust governance standards.
• Oversee recruitment, succession planning and staff development.
• Analyse performance data, implement improvements and ensure accountability across all functions.
• Foster a safe, compliant and highly engaged workplace.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head of Business, Dealer Principal, General Manager or similar senior automotive leadership role.
• Strong commercial acumen with full P&L management experience.
• Track record of delivering profitability, customer satisfaction and operational excellence in a high‑volume retail environment.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and people‑development capabilities.
• Ability to lead through managers while maintaining a clear overview of the entire business.

• Basic salary £70,000‑£85,000.
