Head of Design & Technology – Secondary School

About the role

The school is looking for an enthusiastic Head of Design & Technology to lead its Art, Design and Technology department. You will shape the curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4, drive improvements in teaching and learning, and ensure high standards of student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead curriculum development and delivery for Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4.
• Monitor and analyse student progress, using data to plan interventions.
• Support, mentor and develop teachers, trainee teachers and department technicians.
• Maintain rigorous behaviour, presentation and achievement expectations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s vision.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
• Proven track record of raising student outcomes and improving departmental performance.
• Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and interventions.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
