Head of Family Law Department – Qualified Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or legal executive to lead a fast‑growing family law department in Essex. The successful candidate will drive the team’s strategic direction, maintain high client service standards, and champion the use of technology within the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop an existing family law team, providing mentorship and performance management.
• Oversee all aspects of private family law work, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with senior management on strategic decisions and department growth.
• Maintain and enhance client satisfaction, aiming for outstanding reviews.
• Identify and implement technology solutions, including AI tools, to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or legal executive with extensive experience in private family law.
• Proven track record of managing and mentoring junior lawyers or staff.
• Commercially aware and driven to contribute to business development.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client and referrer relationships (optional but valued).
