Head of Finance – Food & Beverage Manufacturing

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established £50‑60m family‑owned food & beverage manufacturer to appoint a Head of Finance (Chief Accountant). Reporting directly to the Managing Director and shareholders, you will lead the finance function and influence strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate the finance team.
• Own the monthly management accounts process and reporting timetable.
• Provide financial insight and support to the Managing Director and shareholders.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Manage year‑end statutory accounts and external audit processes.
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and reporting procedures.
• Supervise working capital, stock and inventory reporting.
• Review and consolidate financial information from overseas operations when required.
• Drive improvements to finance systems, reporting and processes.
• Act as the senior finance leader across the organisation.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience leading a finance function in manufacturing, food & beverage, FMCG or a similarly operational business.
• Strong background in management accounts, statutory reporting and audit.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Commercially aware with the ability to support operational decision‑making.
• Hands‑on, proactive and comfortable working in an owner‑managed environment.
