Head of Finance

About the role

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will own the finance function of a successful retail business. You will shape financial strategy, ensure robust reporting and governance, and provide commercial insight that drives sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly and annual financial reports, including board packs and insightful commentary.
• Ensure statutory accounts and regulatory filings comply with UK GAAP.
• Build and maintain relationships with auditors, HMRC, banking partners and investors.
• Provide commercial financial support to the Group CFO and wider leadership team.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering high performance.
• Deliver financial control improvements and manage key improvement projects across the business.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience leading finance functions within the retail sector.
• Strong background in statutory reporting and external stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated ability to implement financial controls and drive business improvement.

Required skills

• Technical accounting expertise in UK GAAP.
