Head of Finance – Law Firm

About the role

Ambition Europe Limited, a fast‑growing law firm, is looking for a commercially‑focused Head of Finance to lead its finance function. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the executive team, you will provide strategic financial leadership, drive commercial partnering and oversee day‑to‑day finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance activities including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, re‑forecasting and financial modelling.
• Partner with senior leaders to improve profitability, pricing, utilisation and margin performance.
• Oversee finance operations such as billing, credit control, cash‑flow management and internal controls.
• Drive finance system enhancements, process improvements and transformation projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Develop and manage a high‑performing finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience within a law firm.
• Proven track record of delivering financial insight that influences commercial decisions.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to identify profitability opportunities.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing finance teams.
